This is Spintires with tutorials, challenge modes, and better graphics. I was just going to try it out, but ended up crawling slowly through mud with trucks for more than an hour. These games are fascinating to me, and there is something about this snail's paced experience that is very appealing.
This version of the game looks great and runs well. Like the original Spintires, the interface is pretty horrible, and the cockpit view looks awful, but apart from that, this is a very cool game for a very specific audience.
Completed The Crossing. I learned that you can refuel trucks using fuel transports, but critically, the fuel transports start out empty, and can only be refuelled in fuel stations. This makes sense from a game design perspective, if not from a real-world perspective.
I played through most of Deluge, the most difficult map with a huge river in the middle, when I quit the game to take a break. When I tried to load it again, the game wouldn't start because of missing DLC. I never got any DLC, so this message was confusing. I tried restarting, changing profile, and even deleted my local savegame and re-downloaded it, with no luck. In the end I looked through the available DLC, and downloaded 3 free maps. That did it, and I could complete Deluge.
