Analysis
- The menus of this game is a good example of UI design that *looks* good, but doesn't convey useful information. Specifically, understanding which event you're participating in, how many races you have left, and which track you're racing on, is a constant source of confusion.
Log entries
- The PS5 version was free with PS Plus, and supposedly, it runs at 60 FPS. We shall see.
- It runs well on the PS5. Fast load times and solid frame rate. I'm starting a new save game from the beginning, as there wasn't any obvious way to import save games from the PS4 version.
- Got the National Amateurs Champion trophy. - Feeling down after learning that most of the old guard of Giantbomb is leaving the site, I played some mindless Wreckfest for hours. I'm playing on NOVICE difficulty with all the assists turned off.
- I figured out a way to cheat and make loads of money in a custom event, so I can buy a new car.
- Got the Challengers Champion trophy.
- I started the Pro Internationals, the second to last championship.
I played a few races of Wreckfest. I'm saving up for a cooler car, seems like I'm doing that for most of this game.
