I have played enough Valheim to get a feel for what kind of game it is. Most of the time, you are wandering around, scrounging for crafting materials, hunting animals, and exploring. Combat has a slight bit of depth (it has dodging, blocking with a parry mechanic), but I don't think it's very good. Where this game shines is the feeling of exploration, the tense moments where you have to make a corpse run in a hostile territory, and the building, which is well-designed and has enough depth to allow you to build crazy stuff. The physics elements such as trees falling and crushing you adds fun chaos to the game, making it a bit less predictable.

I started a new game and played for a couple of hours with Bjørk and Malu. We started out sleeping in a little shelter, and ended up building a mighty viking house. I constructed a guard tower in the corner, which was pretty fun.
