I have trouble with this genre and era of games. I like very few 3D platformers, and the ones from this era are particularly rough, both stylistically and gameplay-wise. 3D level design hadn't matured yet, the artwork had lost the rough low-poly charm of the 1990s, tracker music was replaced by looping orchestral soundtracks, movie- and animation film-inspired cutscenes were getting better, but still hard to watch, and everything is explained and tutorialized to a degree where I gets bored. I think Psychonauts is a good one of these, but I can't really find the enjoyment for myself.

*Very* Danny Elfman-esque music by Peter McConnell. The characters also remind me of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'.
