From the FAQ at pinballfx.com: Can I import my previous tables from Pinball FX3 to Pinball FX? No.
Quality mode has ray traced reflections, and it runs perfectly well! This is the first time I've seen the lights and colors reflected on a virtual pinball in a pinball sim!
The Quality Mode runs at 60 FPS.
This new version of Pinball FX just came out.
The remastered Wild West Rampage table looks great. It how has a cartoony art style similar to the Borderlands games.
The motion blur looks wrong to me, specifically because the motion blur of the flippers overshoots the actual motion range of the flippers, which looks impossible. I guess motion blur that predicts the motion of the next frame will always look wrong in the case of a motion that stops very suddenly, exactly like the flippers.
The moving camera looks rough on the recorded video. For recordings, I should use a fixed camera.
Looking a bit more at the reflections, the ball seems to reflect a much simplified version of the board, seemingly the texture underneath, and the closest lights. Interestingly, it seems like certain elements in the boards themselves also reflect the ball, in a way that looks a lot like ray tracing. It was most obvious in the right side of 'Bride of Pin Bot'.
