completed the game with Roxy on Normal (2/3) difficulty (Multiplayer).
Played with Thomas Jauert. What a great game. It perfectly captures the spirit of 80's arcade games with awesome modern-feeling gameplay. :D
completed the game with Roxy on Normal (2/3) difficulty (Coldstrike DLC).
Playing with Thomas Jauert. I freaking love this game. The gameplay flows wonderfully, there is constant action and focus, and everything looks and sounds perfect. Love it.
Completed mission 1/9 on Hardcore difficulty and got skill level: Excellent. That was tricky, but felt great. Maybe Roxy is not the right character after all, because she has no real defense against rockets.
Completed mission 2/9 on Hardcore difficulty and got skill level: Excellent. Not as bad as the first one.
Completed mission 3/9 on Hardcore difficulty and got skill level: Excellent.
Roxy is level 45 now, which is the level cap.
Cleaned out all the secondary objective-related achievements. Pretty easy when playing on Casual difficulty.
Completed mission 1 on Hardcore with Diz, who is now level 9.
Working on mission 4 on Hardcore, which is pretty difficult, and leveling up Diz.
Completed mission 4/9 on Hardcore.
I'm trying to download this to the old 360 to check my savegame, but according to the Xbox Live Status site, there are problems finding previously-purchased content, but they expect to be back up and running shortly.
Xbox Live is up and running again, and I can download my game.
Mission 5/9 wasn't too bad, but man, this is a very different game on Hardcore difficulty. I'm playing much more sneakily and strategically avoiding enemies...
I switched from Roxy to Diz, who seems more useful on this difficulty and completed mission 6-8. Only the final one to go.
completed the game with Diz on Normal difficulty.
I'm just training for Hardcore mode. It's going to be very difficult, I believe.
Got the Lord Master of Great Skill achievement.
- I got skill level: Alien on level 8 on Hardcore difficulty. I did run off a cliff and die once, but that wasn't a problem, apparently.
Dammit, I died at the hands(?) of the 4 tanks in the final boss rush. So close.
Arggh, I reached Inferno (the final boss), but he got me with a missile. I even found the extra life at the very final lava transporter before the exit door (downwards from there). I guess I'm progressing, but it sure doesn't feel that way.
I can't do it. The elevator sequence is too hard.
I reached Inferno again, even though the run up to him didn't go all that well. I picked the regenerating special weapon ammo, which seems a good choice to be able to defeat tanks and stuff.
Damn those seeker missiles... I give up for tonight.
By the way, I tried out the life regeneration power-up, and I don't really like it. It only regenerates when your life is very low.
completed the game with Roxy on Hardcore difficulty.
That was *much* easier than this sunday, I guess a couple of nights of sleep helps sorting everything out. Also, I was playing very carefully, slowly showering off-screen enemies with bullets.
