Analysis

  • The game has a range of difficulty options, where you can disable certain mechanics and give you an extra minute for every time limited mission. Initially, I wanted the time limit to be completely gone, but I soon realized that game is more fun with the original one minute. The meticulous puzzle of planning out a heist is what all the timed missions are about, and it's difficult to solve, but when solved well, not difficulty to execute.

  • I started out playing in Performance mode, but Quality mode runs super smooth and looks a bit sharper, so I switched to that.

  • The 'Car Wash' mission was the first one where I had to really puzzle out the solution and carefullyl lay out a plan. It did help, when I realized that I could drive a transport truck with a car on it into the water without triggering the alarm.

  • The 'Tool Up' mission was very tricky, and required careful preparation (e.g. making a giant hole through a building), delicately moving a container with a tool inside to a different location, considering which cars are fastest, and building wooden bridges to wring out a few seconds more to do everything in 1 minute. It was extremely satisfying when it finally worked out.
