In the giant retro area of Gamescom, there was a shooter booth with various shooters and highscore cards. There was a PlayStation with an arcade joystick and R-Types on it that caught my attention. The score on the card was 174,500. I felt like I should give it a try.
Got the score 236700 in R-Type. A while later, I lost my last ship to the meatball boss, with a respectable score of 236,700. I wrote it down on the card, and checked back later. The score was never beaten, not even the day after.
