      I found a Vectrex at Gamescom, and for the first time, I tried a pretty faithful version of seminal 1962 PDP-1 game 'Spacewar!'. After grabbing the controller from some kids who were confused about the game, I learned to navigate my nimble ship and started getting into the dog-fighting gameplay. This game has surprising depths, and when playing it, I realized, how much Asteroids owes to this game: it controls very similarly, the limited range shots, the wrapping screen, and even the teleport button.
