    I managed to get DLC installed, but it was tricky:
    • After kickstarting R-Type Final 2, I got a physical disc from the developer Granzella.
    • My copy of the game is from the Japanese region. It plays on my DK PS4 without problems.
    • I also got a DLC code for some extra levels from Granzella.
    • DLC also belongs to a region and may only work with games from the same region.
    • I could not redeem the code for the Japanese region DLC on my DK account.
    • After consulting with Granzella, I created a new Japanese account.
    • I signed in on store.playstation.com with the new Japanese account and redeemed the code using the menu option [コード番号の入力].
    • I signed in on my PS5 with the new Japanese account and went to the store page for the DLC. The button for purchasing was greyed out and said 'Purchased' [購入済み]
    • I started the game from the Japanese account.
    • I switched user to my DK account and started the game again. The DLC stages are now available.
