- We're just back from the hospital, extremely tired, and I still felt like trying out a few Game Pass games. I had seen a trailer of Phantom Abyss a long time ago, and I thought the graphics and whip-grappling hook jumps looked appealing. I played the tutorial level and a normal level, which seems to be randomly generated for a group of players, which then show up as ghosts while you play. I guess the ghosts can help you find your way, similarly to Demon's Souls, and you can pick up items from where they died to traps, which obviously has a risk associated with it. Apart from that, you loot money from chests, which can be used to buy upgrades for a particular run. I don't know if there are any permanent upgrades, it doesn't look like it.
