🎲 random (⌨R) genres graphics themes release info hardware features audio

This game is a classic scrolling shoot 'em up with spectacular modern visuals and audio. It was developed by Scottish developer KeelWorks.

It has air and ground attacks like Xevious, but you can only fire one of the weapons at a time, which makes for more interesting gameplay. To exploit modern controller possibilities, you use the right-stick for weapon aiming, in a similar way to other modern scrolling shooter Remote Life from 2022.

During the story mode, you gradually unlock power-ups including homing shots. Story mode can be fully played by two local players.

It also innovates a bit on the genre, featuring a novel shield/weapon balancing system reminiscent of power rerouting often mentioned in Star Trek.

The visuals and sound are the best I have ever seen in this genre, and must be experienced by any shoot 'em up fan. The gameplay is challenging without being impossibly difficult, which works well with a game where your attention is constantly being diverted by great visuals and sound.
