- Not knowing what Dead Rising was all about, I went into this open world zombie survival game with great enthusiasm and enjoyed the freedom and the atmosphere of it. I was enjoying myself so much that I mostly ignored the missions and just ran around, exploring and killing zombies. However, what I didn't know, was that the events of the game occur over time, regardless of player progress, and the zombie horde slowly grows in numbers. As I was running around and enjoying myself, the game became a death trap, and I was stuck with no way to complete it. It was frustrating, and I stopped playing. What I didn't know was that I could have restarted and kept my player progress, and that the game is actually designed to be played that way.
