Facts
According to creator Toru Iwatani, the shape of Pac-Man is inspired by a pizza with a slice missing. The title 'Pakku-Man' was based on the sound word 'paku-paku', which is the sound of munching. (Montfort, Bogost: 'Racing the Beam')
Analysis
- I'm playing in Pac-Man Museum + and noticing that the cabinet art shows a list of bonus items, a cherry is worth 100 points, a strawberry is worth 200, and a melon is worth 500. And then the next three items are questionmarks worth 700 points etc.! The cabinet art is avoiding spoilers of the three last mysterious bonus items! When your game pretty much shows everything it contains from the first second you start playing, you better keep something secret to motivate the players :)
