It's about time I play this beautifully rendered 2D platformer.
That is one goose bump-inducing title theme...
This is a stunningly beautiful game.
After playing for 5.5 hours, I almost have more abilities than I can handle, and the platforming has turned hardcore. I'm barely scraping by, and feel like I'm working close to the limits of my skills, and yet I keep progressing. This is not just a beautiful game, it is also a very challenging.
The escape from the Ginso Tree was a true test of my skills, for a little while after that, everything seemed a little more forgiving.
The Misty Woods was confusing and the lack of a map made me spend an unreasonable amount of time there. I did pick up some essential skills along the way, like using the essential 'Bash' move to push enemies into spikes, and fire their own missiles back at them. The latter was an essential skill against the green frog things and the jumping slime boss.
After 10 hours, I have 70% completion, and traverse the levels in a high powered, yet elegant fashion. With my current set of abilities, the game is an absolute joy to play.
I got almost all of the pickups, maxed out my abilities and powerups, and entered Mount Horu.
Got the Master of the Forest achievement.
- Visited 100% of the map
After 14 hours (and 644 deaths), I got 100% map, pickups, and abilities.
completed the game on Normal difficulty.
While visiting Thomas in Aarhus, we played some of this awesome game.
The final game I tried on Project XCloud, even this tight platformer was playable.
