Guerrilla War (NES)

random genres graphics themes release info

Guerrilla War, originally named 'Guevara' in Japan, is a fun and fast Ikari Warriors-style game where you play as Fidel Castro and Che Guevara during the Cuban revolution against the Batista government in 1956. The names and year were censored from the US version, the communist heroes probably wouldn't have been acceptable protagonists in Reagan-era USA.

It seems to have unlimited continues. I should play through this.

Completed the game. I wanted Anders too play this communist simulator with me, and we ended up completing the entire game. It has infinite continues and immediate resume, and is thus trivial to complete. And of course, that also makes it less fun.

I wanted to show this interesting game to Erik, and we played a little bit until my NES crashed.
