Adaptive music - as far as I can tell, a randomized sequence of pad stems is playing at all times, the selection of pads possibly dependent on the depth. On top of that, all gameplay events start other musical stems that act both as gameplay feedback and as music (similarly to Rez). The pads and the gameplay-triggered stems are not necessarily in the same key, so it sometimes sounds a bit harmonically messy.
I was researching adaptive music in games, and installed this on the company PS5. I just played through the first campaign and got the next creature (I forgot that you unlock new creatures when you play - I wonder how many there are).
Nikki joined me and we played co-op with two Jellies. The spin move causes dizziness that applies a bad vibrato effect on the music stems. Not a great choice.
