🎲 random genres graphics themes release info hardware features

Everspace is a run-based space sim with randomized levels. You accumulate resources, some used for crafting and repairs during a run, others used for permanently enhancing your pilot and ship. The progression is satisfying, and the game becomes more fun as you venture further and further into space. Everspace has a story that makes sense out of the structure of the game. It is slowly told through cutscenes, triggered when you proceed further than you have before, and through logs from crashed ships.

  • On sale for 119.50 DKK.
  • 2018-07-05
  • Reached SECTOR 2. This is a cool game, but I'm not completely happy with the controls. Holding L3 and R3 for boost and roll seems like a bad choice.
  • Slooowly upgrading ship...
  • 2018-07-06
  • I was annoyed enough with the controls to try something: use the PS4 'Customize Button Assignments' to remap the boost to a more sensible button than L3. So I remapped:
    • triangle -> R1
    • R1 -> L3
    • L3 -> triangle
  • New controls worked great, but the game crashed and destroyed my save. I had to download yesterday's save from Sony's servers, and lost all progress from today. That's depressing.
  • 2018-07-09
  • I resumed playing, and I got back to where I was and beyond.
  • 2018-07-17
  • I had the best run so far right before having to leave to travel back to Copenhagen. I had to commit suicide by attacking a large enemy ship. At least I made some money.
  • 2018-07-18
  • Back home again, I did an even better run, reached Sector 3, and earned enough credits to buy a new ship.
  • 2018-07-21
  • I tried the Colonial Gunship for the first time. It's like a flying tank.
  • 2018-07-22
  • I've been working on upgrading my Pilot to maximize what I get out of each run. Going for loot multiplier first seems like the way to go, then Nanomachine upgrades and recently I've started on critical hits.
  • I fell into a black hole in Sector 4. I should be more careful. :)
  • I found an Ancient structure in Sector 4 stage 3, and was promptly murdered by a horrible teleporting guardian thingie.
  • 2018-07-23
  • I did another run and bought the final ship, the Colonial Scout.
  • 2018-07-30
  • I tried playing as the Scout, but I don't think it's for me. I switched back to the Gunship.
  • 2018-07-31
  • My Front Shield Generator couldn't save me from too many outlaws.
  • 2018-08-01
  • I met a group of Splitter Ancients and managed to destroy them, mainly using Shield Breaker Missiles.
