Analysis

  • After watching Noclip's documentary 'Wipeout 2097: The Making of an Iconic PlayStation Soundtrack', I learned that Tim Wright was almost dragged, kicking and screaming, into doing techno and the like for the Wipeout games. I think he ended up being very good at it, especially on the 2097 soundtrack, his tracks on the soundtrack sound like they belong with the rest of the big star names on that soundtrack.

  • The first Wipeout game is very similar to its famous sequel, but feels a little bit more rough around the edges. Tim Wright's music is good, but not so varied. Also, Wipeout 2097 seems to have been developed as an expanded version of this game rather than a full sequel, so I think I should just play that instead.
