Analysis

  • We played this all day. This game is incredibly enjoyable. The combat is as good as it ever was, the moves are easy to execute and flow and combine well together, and the animation is great and full of small delightful surprises. The character roster is impressive, especially when combined with the Kameo characters that add flavor and a Fatality to your main character.

  • I fell for their stupid scam and ordered the Deluxe Edition to get it a few days early - also with 6 additional characters. ALso, a Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage, which is key. This version was 739 DKK.

  • I got the game early, like last time. I picked it up on my way home from work, and installed it. It starts with screen reader enabled, which is hilariously bad speech synthesis. I enjoyed navigating the menus a bit with it turned on.

  • I thought I saw a squirrel on the title screen the other day, but it hasn't shown up again. Now I wonder if I was delirious? Was the squirrel ever there?

  • I started playing Invasion mode. I didn't really like it at first, because it takes place on a map where you slowly move between nodes in 30 FPS. But then you get into fights, and it's fun again.

  • I played through 3 DLC FIGHTER TRIAL towers where I could try Sektor, Cyrax, and Noob Saibot without buying their DLC. Sektor and Noob Saibot were amazing to play, and the robots are both in human form and both female!
