Got the score 218000 in R-Type Classic Mode.
Wauw! My lowly score of 218,000 in R-Type Classic mode landed me the 1165th global rank. My highest rank yet!
Got the score 104700 in R-Type Classic Mode.
Even though I'm pretty drunk right now, I got a rank 1011 in R-Type II.
Got the score 230000 in R-Type Classic Mode.
Is now rank 2007 on the XBox Live leaderboards. Still have trouble with Stage 4.
OK, I'm starting a Classic Mode run of R-Type. My rules for this accomplishment: I can restart on any level, but I have to play on Classic Mode (meaning that death restarts you at a checkpoint, not where you died).
Reached stage 3/8 in R-Type Classic Mode.
Reached stage 5/8 in R-Type Classic Mode.
Reached stage 6/8 in R-Type Classic Mode. Finally beat the maccaroni level with the stupid meatball boss.
Completed stage 6! I spent several hours on it, but finally did it! This is only the second time I ever reached stage 7. I wrote a few tips in my wiki.
Argh, I can't get past the first checkpoint in level 7.
Joakim recognized R-Type in my games list, so I played a single credit's worth of R-Type, getting me to level 4, where I was overwhelmed.
I wanted to see if I could stream an emulated 360 game through the Xbox One Twitch streaming feature. It worked. I didn't get past stage 4 in the game, though.
I streamed a bit of R-Type Dimensions to beam.pro, which is integrated in the Xbox One system. It worked perfectly, except I can't find the videos after the stream stopped. I don't know if they will show up later?
I talked to Carl Karjalainen who did art for R-Type Dimensions, and he verified that to his knowledge, the original game is running in emulated form under the hood, and the modern graphics is using the emulated state to render the 3D version, as I hoped.
