The style of this cool game is, like many other arcade games from this era, reminiscent of 80's post-apocalyptic sci fi movies, e.g. Escape from New York. There are top-down stages switching to a reasonably well-implemented multi-directional shooter that rotates the screen instead of your guy. This is the best use of Mode 7 graphics I have seen, and the gameplay actually works quite well.
