Since seeing this on Giantbomb, I was interested in this weird 1990s internet simulator. This was part of Xbox Game Pass, but I didn't want to play it with a controller, so I'm running it from the Xbox application on my old Dell XPS 8700, sitting on my couch with a keyboard and a mouse. The best way to play PC games. ;)
I was expecting this to be weird, funny, and clever, but I didn't expect to get sucked into the weird universe of 1999 internet personalities, and their world of bad Kid Rock music (sorry, Chowder Man), role playing games, swedish progressive rock bands, conspiracy nuts, and awful, awful web design. This is very clever, an interesting way to do storytelling.
I am very impressed with the amount of detail in this little universe: malware, anti-virus software, multiple payment systems, tons of MIDI music, screensavers, backgrounds.
I think I sometimes get stuck in this game because until now, all I've been doing is censoring and reporting, and I'm a bit confused about how that whole thing should work.
