Analysis

  • When we started the game, I was worried that the Bayonetta formula had gotten stale since 2010. The game doesn't run perfectly on the Switch, the cutscenes are fun, but the ridiculously fast action looks bad in an uninterpolated low frame rate, the acting is atrociously bad, but in a funny way. However, these are all nitpicks - the game is an absolute joy to play, the controls feel amazingly good, and you keep getting new enemies, new weapons, and new summons at such a high pace, it's just impossible to not enjoy it.

  • Jeppe bought this for the company, I'm looking forward to playing. I've been feeling like some more Bayonetta.

  • Completed chapter 2/16 with Erik.

  • Erik and I played up until chapter 5, including an Elevator Action-style 2D stealth sequence with Jeanne, and chapter 6, where you can summon a steam train to run over enemies. So many fun ideas!
