Shadow Dancer is very similar in gameplay to its predecessor, Shinobi. However, it features the ninja dog sidekick, which works well, and is a huge advantage in certain situations. The graphics is greatly improved compared to the original.

OK, the pending anonymous timers check is still in effect in 0.144. I have recompiled M.A.M.E. from source, removing the check, and documented how to do it on schmid.wiki.
