- Started a game of Doom, The Roguelike. I'm playing using the Derek 'Spelunky' Yu graphics mode. I'm playing on 'Hurt me Plenty' (3/5) difficulty.
- Got the score 9710. Killed by a demon (reached level 4).
- Got the score 17198. Reached level 7, but was overrun by 4 demons.
- Got the score 6398. Reached level 8, but was killed by a Bruiser Brother.
- After researching a bit on how to set up PuTTY to use 256 colors and finding some readable bitmap fonts, I tried playing the Linux version of DoomRL. Unfortunately, no matter how good it looks, I still suck at DoomRL and died on level 3. :(
- Got the score 11681. Reached level 14, playing on 'I'm too young to die' difficulty, which is really too easy, and made me lose my concentration.
- Got the score 17475. DoomBoy the Marine reached Phobos level 7, playing on the fun 'Hurt Me Plenty' difficulty, but was overwhelmed by Pinky Demons.
- Upgrading your weapon with mods really helps. My Combat Shotgun is awesome now. The 'You feel relatively safe now' message seems to indicate that all enemies on this level are dead.
- Bulk modding your armor increases it to 200%!
- Got the score 22188. DAMN! That Phobos Anomaly is a crazy place. Suddenly enemies appear all around you and swarm you. I wonder if there is some way to avoid being in the middle of the room when that happens... asdf The Marine was smitten by a Cacodemon at the Hellgate.
- The Hellgate is at level 8, which is not too hard to reach. I have no idea how to beat it, however.
- I think maybe I should try delving into the Hell's Arena places and try to get a Arena Master's Staff, which should be really useful in the Phobos Anomaly.
- I tried the Hell's Arena place, and died on the second 'wave'.
- Got the score 24128. DoomDude, my Shotgun/Rocket Launcher-wielding Marine reached the Phobos Anomaly, made some tactical errors, and was murdered by the Bruiser Brothers.
