  • I played an emulated version of this a bit while working for Tonic Games at the Højbro Plads office. I don't think I ever got further than King Hippo.
  • 2014-12-11
  • My first game on a real copy of this game went extremely well, I completed the Minor Circuit and got as far as Great Tiger. This game is great. I got a pass key: 005 737 5423.
  • 2014-12-14
  • I defeated Bald Bull by a big punch to his gut. 'PASS KEY IS 667 833 7533'
  • I finally defeated the second incarnation of Piston Honda, only to be destroyed by Soda Popinski.
  • 2014-12-19
  • Before playing a round of the Zombies board game, Jeppe, Peter, and Eske spectated me fighting through the Minor Circuit and getting pummeled by Bald Bull.
  • 2016-07-16
  • My Punch-Out cartridge is a nightmare to get to work, and even when I succeed, it still resets once in a while. So annoying. That tiny Classic Edition box is looking better by the minute.
  • 2016-09-11
  • I played through the Minor Circuit again and is currently getting murdered by Bald Bull, that Turkish brute. I need a better strategy for that dude.
  • ... *reads earlier entries* ... Right, gut punch him.
  • That second iteration of Piston Honda is kind of hard.
  • 2017-11-19
  • While I was playing the Switch, Erik had brought an NES Classic Edition and the intro sound of Punch-Out immediately beckoned me to the TV. I reached the Major Circuit and fought against Bald Bull a couple of times. What a great game.
  • 2017-11-26
  • I played through the MINOR and MAJOR CIRCUIT again on Mednafen.
  • 2020-12-22
  • I played through the game and beat Great Tiger.
  • 2020-12-23
  • I did a KO on Glass Joe by doing a normal left punch timed exactly when he returns from his taunt.
  • 2021-04-10
  • Erik brought out the NES Classic and we played a bunch of the games. I managed to get to Bald Bull.
  • 2022-07-15
  • The video game exhibition in Øksnehallen had a bunch of mini emulation consoles, among them the NES Classic. I played a bit of Punch-Out and a few other games. I noticed for the first time that the upscaling was poor, there was noticable pixel crawling artifacts on horizontally scrolling games. I wonder if the NES Classic's scaling is done poorly or it was the TV it was connected to?
  • 2023-02-15
  • I beat the MAJOR CIRCUIT using keyboard controls and started practicing the WORLD CIRCUIT.

  • 2023-02-16
  • I beat the MAJOR CIRCUIT again using keyboard controls. I experimented with a few techniques I learned from KoachKrab127 on YouTube.
