Parodius (MSX)

Often (not consistently), sprites and starfield move in 3-frame cycles:
1. Bullets and half the background starfield
2. Player and enemies
3. Other half of starfield
The tile-based background moves 8-pixels every 24 frames.

I should play this cute Parodius game, I think it's the first game in the series.

I reached the penguin boss of level 1 but didn't beat him. I need to get learn what powerup is in which slot at the bottom.
