Analysis

  • This is maybe the best Arkanoid game ever? The powerups are so much fun, the game feels great and strikes a nice balance in its difficulty. The only negative: the levels look a bit messy compared to the clean style of the first game.

  • Got the score 260800. I don't like this nearly as much as the Amiga port of the original game, it feels too slow, and I'm annoyed by the bubble enemies that very slowly teleports the ball. This game should just be faster. Password for level 58/99: 9096 3?W! WR08
  • I did like the version of DOH that rotates the screen with his sprite-arms.
  • I keep playing this for some reason. Why would they add the grey ball texture on top of the cool colorcycled cyberspace art? Looks awful.
  • Got the score 324810.
  • FINALLY I beat the big DOH head. Two important tricks were learned: 1) In his second form, his eyes glow before he shoots the beams, and the very important: 2) You can hold B+Y to move even faster. I should have known that a long time ago.
  • Completed the game on Normal difficulty. Finally I beat the final DOH incarnation. Easier than level 88.
  • ...And then my paddle lands on the ground, opens up, and people walk out.
