  • Black Friday offer, Diablo was 192 DKK for the PS4, so I caved in and got it. Apparently, I can import characters from the Windows version, so I'll try that right away.
  • Oh, apparently that only works for the console versions. Guess I'll start a new character, then.

  • I created a Crusader named Priesty and rescued Deckard Caine. The PS4 controls work well, it's particularly easy to mark equipment as junk and equip stuff you pick up.
  • I'm playing on Expert, the hardest difficulty unlocked from the start, and it's very easy so far.
  • When you're too tired to do anything else, you can always play a mindless game of Diablo.

  • I heard something from Kristian and Erik at work about some gifts, so I booted up Diablo III and checked my mailbox. Sure enough, I got loads of stuff from those guys. After equipping it, I was completely overpowered, and went and killed the Skeleton King by standing in front of him holding the X button. The game was extremely boring for a couple of hours after that. I was just running through areas, dodging normal enemies and going straight for the biggest, most dangerous ones I could find. Finally, as I'm approaching The Butcher, the game is difficult enough again that I have to actually pay attention.

  • Nabaz wanted to see the console version of the game he had played a lot on PC. We ended up joining him in local co-op, which was a pretty tame experience compared to the similar but more interesting Helldivers.

  • Nabaz wanted to play a bit more of the game that he already spent hundreds of hours on, so we finished the first act, him playing the agile Demon Hunter, and me standing in a safe distance, throwing spiders. Playing with the Witch Doctor is as casual as can be, I'm basically just standing around, holding X.

  • I downloaded and started this, but the menus were in ... polish, maybe? Apparently no option to change the language, but it turns out there are two different downloads of the game. I'm trying the other one. This is confusing.

  • I went back with my level 42 Crusader and got right back into the boss fight with Belial. I died a bunch of times to his final area attacks that killed me way to fast. I need to figure out a way to deal with that. After that, I went exploring a bit. My character seems a bit inefficient, and every fight takes forever. It was pretty late, and I actually fell asleep several times while playing. I guess Diablo is the type of game where you can do that and still keep playing. :)

  • Erik came by and showed me his incredible array of high-level Diablo characters, including a cool Necromancer, making me want to buy the Necromancer DLC. After that, he helped me optimize my character, and telling me to basically just go for highest damage in all my equipment. I still couldn't defeat Belial on Expert difficulty, so I switched to Hard and it became trivial. This game always seem to fall between too easy and too hard. Maybe I'll switch back to Expert.

  • I switched back to Expert, and its fun and just challenging enough. I defeated Azmodan without too much trouble.
  • I destroyed Diablo and completed Act IV, playing on Expert difficulty. No problems with the big Alien queen demon. It went right into the Reaper of Souls expansion, which I look forward to playing for the first time.
  • 2017-09-06
  • I started playing Act V for the first time, and Priesty is now level 60.
  • 2017-09-10
  • Completed the game with Crusader. Apart from the Belial fight, I played the entire game on Expert difficulty. The last parts of Act V was very cool, good boss fights and great locations. Even the Angel of Death was kind of an interesting character. Priesty is level 68. I should get him to 70 to see what happens.
  • 2017-09-13
  • I started playing Adventure Mode on Torment II with Priesty, my level 68 Crusader. It's fun, mindless Diablo, with just enough of a challenge that you have to stay awake while you're playing it. I quickly leveled up to 70, and then Paragon level 2. It feels pretty good that I'm leveling up all characters at once.

  • Incineron was reincarnated as a wizard dude, and death rays his way through the campaign on Master difficulty. Fun, and just challenging enough.
  • 2017-09-17
  • After Nabaz demoed his ridiculously high level characters to me, I wanted to grind some more Paragon levels with Priesty.
